    Become a Volunteer at AHS!

AHS VIPS is a very active and friendly group of volunteers,  and if you haven’t had the opportunity to join us, we invite you to do so. Here are just some of the areas in which we are involved:

    · Nacho Sales – our only fundraiser- every other Tuesday.
    · Hospitality – we host teacher luncheons in the Fall and Spring as a special treat for the faculty and staff, along with other events throughout the year.
    · Clinic – we provide volunteers to the nurses throughout the year for screenings, etc. and also to help with the Blood Drives.
·Textbooks – we assist in the distribution and collection of the textbooks.
    · Shared Dreams – each school has a week in which they help out at the FBISD Shared Dreams location. We also collect items that this facility needs throughout the year.
    · YES program – this program provides students with an opportunity to document their volunteer hours and receive a medal at graduation after completing 100 hours of community service.

Our board meetings are typically held the 1st Friday of each month in the AHS library. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you are interested in learning more,  it is VERY simple:

    1.   Email volunteersaustin@gmail.com to get on the distribution list.
Please include your name and your student’s year of graduation.

    2.   Complete your criminal background check with FBISD at http://www.fortbendisd.com/comrel/pie/CriminalHistoryCheck.cfm

All on-campus volunteers must re-register each year.  Join AHS VIPS today! - Click HERE for the volunteer form.
